HONORS 104 INTRODUCTION TO BRIDGE Repeatable 1 Units
A study of critical thinking skills and strategies, particularly as they pertain to the game of bridge, including logical thinking, inferential analysis, problem-solving skills, sequencing, visualization, lateral thinking, memory, observation, and psychological strategies. Communication skills found during bidding (including conventional bids) and card play (signaling) will also be addressed. No prior knowledge is needed.
HONORS 280 HONORS EXPLORATION: A SURVEY OF ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES 2 Units
In this course, students will be introduced to a wide range of academic disciplines through engaging lectures by professors from diverse fields. Each guest lecturer will provide insights into their discipline, discussing the core ideas, methodologies, and challenges that define their work. They will also explore why their field is both intellectually stimulating and socially important, sharing personal perspectives and experiences. Additionally, the lectures will include discussions on potential career paths and opportunities within each discipline, helping students understand how their academic interests can translate into real-world applications and professional development.

HONORS 296 SPECIAL STUDIES Repeatable 1-3 Units
Variable topics. Group activity. Not offered regularly in the curriculum but offered on topics selected on the basis of timeliness, need, and interest, and generally in the format of regularly scheduled Catalog offerings. Repeatable only with change of topic.
PREREQ: ELIGIBILITY FOR THE UNIVERSITY HONORS PROGRAM OR UNIVERSITY HONORS PROGRAM DIRECTOR CONSENT

Variable topics. Individual activity in an area of special interest for a variable number of units under the sponsorship and guidance of a faculty member.
